Sealing the location for our new dream was just the beginning at Ti Kouka because the space needed to be gutted and refit from the entrance and stairs all the way through to the kitchen and toilets. With the help of many family members, friends and the invaluable builder, Jake, we all got stuck in D.I.Y style and over a few short(long) months we transformed the red – red – red – red Katipo cafe into the warm inviting Ti Kouka we have today.
Over the last couple of years we have been working on our ambiance and decor, adding new artworks, furniture and lighting as our business has grown. We will continue to evolve our style with a revolving selection of new, contemporary art on the walls.
All art in the dining area is generously provided and hung by our good friends, Sharon and Ron, at Exhibitions Gallery (Brandon St).
